About the Artist

Kerrigan was born in 1997 in Texas. She attended all of her education there except for half of her bachelor's degree. She began her career in high school at her Senior Group Exhibition.

She then put the art to the side but eventually found her way back "home."

In 2019, she started studying art again. She applied to the Juried Student Show at Midwestern State University.

She began putting herself out there due to her partner at the time pushing her to better her future.

In 2022, she resumed her life journey and began accmplishing her hopes and dreams.

She started applying to more exhibitions and publications. She then moved to California to start fresh, and her whole life changed.

She started getting accepted into more exhibitions, began getting her Bachelor's, and has had multiple international, local, regional, and statewide experiences.

She has had art shown in California, Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Nevada, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Washington, and internationally in England, Germany, Georgia, and France.

This is just the beginning of a beautiful life.

Hopes/Dreams

Hopes/Dreams

My hopes and dreams are to finish my Bachelor's, apply to my Mastor's and get my therapy license. I just want to change one person's life.

My hopes and dreams are to get accepted into a prestigious gallery or mueseum. My goal is the Getty, the MOCA, the Lourve, or the private collection from someone across seas.

Era's of Kerrigan's Journey

Uncertainty

My parents were encouraging me to complete my art, apply to art schools, and start believing in my abilities. I felt like I was incapable of being one of The Great's. I didn't stand a chance.

I was timid and shy. I was in awe of other's abilities.

I practised countless hours. Eventually, I walked away for a few years. I lost sight of my love and didn't believe I belonged. I still created but I was just messing around.

Encouragement

I was with a partner for 6 years; during that time, they encouraged me that my art was worthy.  I began to study art and fell in love. Suddenly, it was all I could think about, dream about, talk about. I felt a fire slowly burn brighter. It was intense and burned my fingertips when I touched a canvas.

I began putting myself out there. I applied, and I was rejected. I continued.  I kept standing back up after each right hook that life threw at me.

Success

Finally, I got my life sorted out. Then, I began applying again. I got accepted.

I started applying to ones I never thought I would get accepted into. And yet I was accepted. I felt like an imposter, but I kept working hard. All those thousands of hours finally helped me get to where I am today.

I cannot wait to see where I am in 5 years. I will continue learning and growing.
